FUNDING AND CONTRIBUTIONS

As a department of the City of Kingsport, the Senior Center receives most of its operational funding, for things like building maintenance, staff salaries, computer support, and day-to-day supplies, from the City.

Additional capital improvements, class instruction, programming and activity support, however, are provided by volunteer support, fundraising, special grants, and a variety of different types of donations. Remarkably, over 95% of the Center's programs are offered to members free of charge.

Friends of the Senior Center

The Friends of the Senior Center. is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to maintain an association of people to support, promote, and enrich the Kingsport Senior Center in its mission to be a community resource for area seniors.

Memorials

More people are expressing their love and respect for others with a gift that continues to live on. A memorial gift to the Friends of The Kingsport Senior Center is a wonderful way to recognize others who should not be forgotten. Celebrating the priceless relationship through a memorial gift can be a rewarding experience. Such gifts provide a way for you to express your feelings and offer a wonderful chance to say how important that person is to you. Those who make a donation in honor of a friend's birthday, anniversary, or memory receive a card acknowledging their donation while the recipient is notified of the gift.

Your favorite program area may be specified.
